Chancel Choir

Membership in the ensemble stands at 30.  Rehearsals are held weekly after second service from 12:00 noon to 1 p.m.   This group serves as the primary musical leadership at the 10:15 service as well as singing for extra services such as our Christmas Eve Prelude of Carols and Holy Week musical offerings.  Our choir year begins in September and continues through Pentecost Sunday.

Children’s Choir

Our present roster totals 13 children, ages 6-12, and this wonderfully energetic crew meets every Sunday for 30 minutes immediately following the 10:15 service.  Parents are very supportive and helpful.

Handbell Choir

With our newcomers and former members combined our membership now stands at 14.  Rehearsals are held in the Choir Room every Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. The group will continue to assist worship in the ringing/singing of hymns and playing of anthems each month.

Cherub Choir

Our youngest musicians at St. John’s (ages 3-5) gather downstairs below the Parish Hall each Sunday for about 10-15 minutes.  Learning the liturgical colors, singing the Bible stories and discovering age-appropriate ways to sing and understand the gospel are just some of the activities we share each week.

Music at 8:00 a.m. Service

Organ music has now become a regular part of the worship for our early service. Although no ensembles currently participate, vocalists such as Carl Hartman and others freely volunteer to enrich and enliven our time together.
